Surety of the Word: Teaching Notes

Scripture says:

Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed (perish) for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

The emphasis of this Essentials teaching series is to erase that “lack of knowledge” in believers who study this with us and create a strong and effective Church, doing great things, building the Kingdom and Glorifying God.

The teaching here jumps somewhat into the Essentials point of “The Word”, because we need to see how all the seven (7) scriptures tie together and how they work with other principles God has set forth.

Remember God is a God of order, and He has given order to everything you do. If you are not following the order He has prescribed and you are getting prayers answered it is because God sets forth a “catch all” principle in:

Acts 17:30 “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:”

Understand once you understand the principles of God’s order you can no longer go back to how you were doing things before, because you now have “light” on what and how you are supposed to do things and the principle set forth in:

1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

now applies to you, so you can not hide, for you are no longer ignorant, but must follow on in the new light of knowledge you have learned of God and His methods of operation.

Principle #1 God can not lie
In our scriptures #1: Numbers 23:19 & #2 Psalms 89:34 God declares He can not and will not lie, and in #3 says that to prove that he has recorded and locked in (settled) His word in Heaven as a final seal to all He has said. Additionally the Apostle Paul backs that up with:

Tit 1:2 “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;”

Principle #2 God looks for his Word
We see in the story of “Jacobs Ladder” a phenomenon that so many miss, when reading over the story quickly.

Gen 28:12 “And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.”

The principles that are missed are two (2) part:

  1. The ladder is wide enough that angels can both ascend and descend both at the same time,
  2. The angels are looking for something, they are looking for God’s Word, so that they might/may take it to God’s throne.

This is so God can then, on behalf of the petitioner or “sayer” of the Word, enact #4 & # 5 from our lesson Isaiah 55:11 and Jer 1:12 . Therefore God will then repeat His Word again on behalf of the believer, petitioner or “sayer” of the Word, to ensure it will be done, for the descending angels will bring back the “enactment” or “performance” of the Word.

Principle #3 Gods Word is Eternal
Finally scriptures #6 & #7 show us God’s Word is as Eternal as He is Himself, and will endure all “End of the World” and “End of the Age” events. To emphasize this He repeats #7 three (3) times.
